Start your adventure early as our professional guide picks you up from your hotel in Cusco early in the morning. We’ll board our comfortable tourist transport for a scenic two-hour drive to the charming town of Cusipata. Along the way, enjoy views of picturesque Andean villages, herds of llamas and alpacas, and the warm smiles of local residents.
Upon arrival in Cusipata (3,310 m / 10,860 ft), we’ll gather with the group for a hearty breakfast before continuing to the Phulawasipata base camp (4,650 m / 15,256 ft). From here, we begin our ascent, trekking for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes through breathtaking high-altitude landscapes until reaching the spectacular Rainbow Mountain, also known as the Hill of Seven Colors (5,090 m / 16,700 ft).
From the Vinicunca viewpoint, capture stunning photographs of the vibrant, naturally colored slopes and take in the panoramic scenery dominated by the majestic Nevado de Ausangate (6,384 m / 20,945 ft). After enjoying the views and exploring the area, we’ll hike back to Phulawasipata and return by vehicle to Cusipata, where a delicious lunch awaits. We then make our way back to Cusco, arriving around 5:00 PM, bringing this unforgettable day in the Peruvian Andes to a close.
